Apparently a Georgia man has become so tired of Jerry Jones running the Dallas Cowboys that he has created a petition on the White House’s website to have Jones removed as owner and general manager of the NFL franchise.

The petition reads: “We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch’s immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress.”

Jones has stated several times over the years that he has no plans to surrender his title as general manager. After all, that’s what Cowboys fans really are complaining about. Although the Cowboys have won three Super Bowls since Jones purchased the team in 1989, they have been stuck in mediocrity ever since.

However, the petition also mentions removing Jones as owner. It’s difficult to argue with what he has done in that capacity. The team is arguably the most popular sports franchise in the world and it plays its home games in a $1.2 billion stadium.

As of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, the petition, which was created on Nov. 23, had over 2,000 of the 25,000 signatures needed. The website states: “If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.”

While the majority of signatures come from Texas residents, there are a large number from residents all across the country.

Jerry is the best owner in the NFL and the worst GM…..the two cannot be done together, one is about making money, the other is about putting the best product on the field, not on the patio….

to stopwhinning
7:25 pm Nov 27, 2012

you know what you’re talking about. Jerry Jones showed other NFL owners how to make money, and to keep the NFL from going broke. I’ve been a cowboy fan since the 60’s, and yes, right now they put a team on the field that is messed up. But it is his team to mess up. HE is the OWNER!

No Super Bowl Ever
7:21 pm Nov 27, 2012

Jerry Jones is a distraction. The NFL is the toughest win in the world and you have to be focused completely on the game to make it happen and the Cowboys have had THAT focus since Jimmy Johnson. Almost got it back with Parcells but he’s gone too. Jerry is still living off Jimmy’s incredible drive to win 4 Super Bowls in a row!! Oh wait, he fired him before he would have made is obvious that the triplets and the Cowboys of the 90’s were the best team ever!!!thanks Jerry…..

Dallas has not been America’s team for 30 years. I think it is rather funny that the senile old man hasn’t one since Jimmy Johnson left.

Jerry Jones Needs A New GM
6:47 pm Nov 27, 2012

JJ is a self serving, egotistical, power hungry, narcissist and can’t see that he is one of the biggest problems with the Cowboys. No way, should Jerry give up ownership of the club but resigning from being the GM and getting a real GM is another case. The more, and longer, Jerry Jones continues to stick his nose in things the longer the Cowboys will suffer through mediocrity year after year. I do agree though, the only way to really get Jerry’s attention is to stop going to the stadium and of course that will never happen. The Cowboy faithful deserves better than what JJ is giving them.

The Cowboy ‘faithful’ deserve nothing. They’re as dumb as a stump. They’re getting exactly what the wannabe’s deserve.

Give JJ the BOOT
6:44 pm Nov 27, 2012

JJ needs to go – I lived in Dallas almost 20 yrs

Say it aint so
6:44 pm Nov 27, 2012

As a die hard Redskins fan I say leave them be. JJ is doing just fine with his Team. 🙂

comedy at its finest

i love it , its fun to watch them crash and burn

Cmon 6 and 10
10:42 pm Nov 27, 2012

Amen! Next 5 games they’ll be lucky to beat the horrible Eagles! Steelers crush ’em; Bengals eat ’em; Saints crucify ’em; and Redskins scalp ’em again.

Get rid
6:39 pm Nov 27, 2012

If we can get 25000 signatures, can we get rid of this Georgia man as a football fan.

6:39 pm Nov 27, 2012

Jerry Jones ownes this team. In the day there was so much talent Barry Switzer won a superbowl. I think The new head coach is the problem. He made the worst calls when wade was coach and now he is in charge. just like my company that closed. promote the people that sound good but cant do the job and you will fail. FIRE JASON GARRET, HE IS THE PROBLEM.

6:36 pm Nov 27, 2012

Where do I sign?

6:12 pm Nov 27, 2012

It’s not so much as Jerry Jones that needs to go. IT IS ROMO THAT NEEDS TO GO AND NOW!!!!! Leave everything else alone for at least one year without Romo.

5:43 pm Nov 27, 2012

What an outragious bunch of nonsense. The guy has done more for football not only in TX, but for the NFL as a whole, than almost any other owner.
It’s a shame that there are so many people out there who have never learned to wear their big boy pants. Stop your sniveling and grow up. There are teams out there who have never been in a Super Bowl and rarely come away with division championships. Not so with Dallas. Dallas is an elite franchise and it is because of Jones and his insightfulness that the team has become one of the most endearing to football fans everywhere.

Texas Toast
5:40 pm Nov 27, 2012

I’ve read lately that Texas is petioning to secede from the Union. So, why are Cowboy fans asking the White House for anything?? If they want out of the States, let them take Jerry Jones, Tony Romo, and the entire Dallas Cowboy organization with them. Out of the Union, not our problem!!

Art imitates life
5:28 pm Nov 27, 2012

All Jerry is doing is reflecting the narcissistic, wannabee cesspool of of city that Dallass is. I had the displeasure of living there 20 years and happiness was Dallas getting smaller in our rear view mirror as we drove east to retire in Tennessee! We purposely stopped right on the city limits to let our dog take his last dump. Please, nobody follow us!

Stuck like Chuck
5:09 pm Nov 27, 2012

i agree Cowboys fans are stuck with JJ. As a result we are now the Oakland Raiders. No disrespect to Al Davis but he was terrible over the last 10 or 11 years. JJ has been terrible since 1996. Like Oakland we are stuck with this guy until he dies or becomes too sick or impaired to run the team.

jerry jones
5:08 pm Nov 27, 2012

i thinkk he should continue to own the team , and that is all

King Lear
4:58 pm Nov 27, 2012

Your not going to get rid of Jones. This self styled Godfather team owner is in for the long haul. The Cowboys are most over-rated NFL team in the league. No consistency. Win one lose 2. However all the hype has elevated them to America’s Dream Team with no questions asked. Unfortunate but true.

4:54 pm Nov 27, 2012

For the love of GOD, PLEASE do not get rid of JJ. Dallas is right where they need to be!!!

4:53 pm Nov 27, 2012

I Totally agree with you fballfan, I have been a fan for years but have no interest in visiting that new stadium. People Quit buying tickets please!!!! U are wasting your money. Where Do I Sign

help for the cowboys
4:41 pm Nov 27, 2012

I agree with a lot of you guys. jj needs to sit up there in his private box, keep his mouth shut, and let who ever the coach is coach. I like jason garrett but i dont think he is ready to be a head coach. I also think it is time for romo to go.

4:21 pm Nov 27, 2012

As a die hard Redskins fan, I am vehemently opposed to the removal of either Jerry Jones OR Tony Romo. They can fire Jason Garrett but ONLY if they replace him with Rex Ryan (who will be on the market this iff-season).

Leave Jerry Jones Alone
4:04 pm Nov 27, 2012

granted i don’t agree with everything that Jerry Jones does, he is the owner, an he has done alot for the cowboys since his ownership, and for the State of Texas, everybody needs to look at the small details…Go Cowboys…Geaux Saints…

3:57 pm Nov 27, 2012

They need to get rid of T. Romo also.

If Only We Could
3:47 pm Nov 27, 2012

Where do I sign?!

great idea
3:46 pm Nov 27, 2012

@ RIFAN- that may be the funniest, yet smartest, thing I have read today!

Quit supporting Jerry World
3:43 pm Nov 27, 2012

The only way for fans to get the message through to Jerry Jones is to quit supporting his team. If people quit going to the stadium and paying his high prices, he’ll eventually have to make a change.

<div ‘=””>

Dallas fans are zombies
9:12 pm Nov 27, 2012

Problem is, Dallas fans don’t have anything else to do in that cesspool called Dallas. The zombies live from Sunday to Sunday to see their beloved Cowgirls take the field.

Quite Supporting Jerry
3:56 pm Nov 27, 2012

I doubt it. If it is just Jerry and his little whimping boy son-in-law in the stadium, I think Jerry would still refuse to step down. His ego is too large.

the talking head has to go
3:40 pm Nov 27, 2012

Jerry is a blowhard SOB too bad they can’t get rid of him

He knows not what he does
3:36 pm Nov 27, 2012

Where do I sign up?

Thats why they call it Jerrys World
3:28 pm Nov 27, 2012

jj is in fact the reason the Cowboys have been in a state of mediocrity. When he bought the team he fired Landry and hired Johnson. Johnson…with jj’s money built that championship team. jj then figured “I got this” and got rid of Johnson. Well unfortunately for jj, the good things Johnson did for that team couldn’t last forever. And here we are…and have been for some time. Jimmy built it, and jj has managed to tear it back down to an average team at best. So until he gives up that GM title…the cowboys will NEVER win another superbowl. It’s just that simple.

Waste of time
2:50 pm Nov 27, 2012

I can’t see how petitioning one idiot to remove another is going to work but good luck.

Waste of Time
